WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 (subtitled Exciting Pro Wrestling 7 in Japan) is a professional wrestling video game developed by Yuke’s and released on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable by THQ in 2005.
This is part of the WWE SmackDown vs. The Raw game series is based on the professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and is the successor to the 2004 game of the same name. SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 was also the first game in the series to be released on the PlayStation Portable.
The main focus of 2006 was to bring more realism and authenticity to the series with lots of new features, breaking away from the arcade-like gameplay of the previous installments.
The game saw the addition of new Buried Alive and “Fulfill Your Fantasy” matches and the inclusion of two new modes in General Manager and “Create-An-Entrance”.
SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 became the best-selling game for the PlayStation 2 console of the entire series. The Steelbook version of the game was released exclusively in Australia. This game was replaced by WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 in 2006.

It is the third game under the name WWE SmackDown vs Raw, the eighth game overall in the video game series based on the professional wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and the successor to 2005’s WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006.
The game was first announced on March 31, 2006, and released worldwide in November 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, and a month later for the PlayStation Portable.
The Xbox 360 version is the first game in the series to be published on the seventh generation of video game consoles. A PlayStation 3 version was also planned as well as a launch title for the system but was later canceled.
New features introduced include an analog control system, interactive hotspots, and in-crowd arena battles. This game also includes several improvements to the match types and modes present in the previous game.

The album was released on 20 October 2009 in North America, 22 October 2009 in Australia and 23 October 2009 in Europe. TOSE oversaw development for the Nintendo DS version, which was the final installment released for handheld devices.
SmackDown 2010 was also the first installment to be released as an iPhone app, launching on the App Store on December 23, 2009.
