So if you want to know how to find your deleted files back, keep on reading this tutorial in which I will show you several basic methods for data recovering.
Why Can Deleted Files Be Recovered?
Before recovering files on your computer, it is better for you to know some basic computer knowledge — why can we recover deleted files?
Most of you may think that once you delete a file and empty the Recycle Bin, you will never get the file back. The truth is that even if the Recycle Bin is emptied, you still have the chance to restore your file.
What happens when a file is deleted or lost? Well, actually after you permanently delete a file, it still remains in your hard disk. It may sound strange to you, but it will make sense if you know how data is stored in hard disk.
A hard disk is divided into many sectors (storage cells). When you create a new file, the file will be written into many sectors and a pointer will be created automatically to record where the file is restored.
When you delete a file, actually it is the pointer that is deleted and you only lose the entry of the file while the file itself still exists in the hard disk. That is why you can recover a deleted file. But it doesn’t mean that you can recover the file anytime you want.
Once you delete the file and the pointer, Windows will mark the sectors where the deleted file is stored as free space, which means that any new file can be written into those sectors and overwrite the deleted file.
Therefore, if you want to recover a newly deleted file, do not download anything to the hard drive where the file is stored in case it is overwritten.

Recover Deleted Files from Recycle Bin
If you want to recover an accidentally deleted file, first you can find whether there is a backup file on your computer. Open Windows File Explore and type the file name into the search box to find the file.
If lucky, you may find a backup file and do not need to spend extra time to recover the file. If you didn’t create a backup file, than you may use a most common way to restore deleted files – restore files from Recycle Bin.
When you delete a file, the file will be moved to Recycle Bin automatically and cannot be opened from there. If you didn’t empty the Recycle Bin, you can find and restore the deleted files in it.
Step 1: Double-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop to open it.
Step 2: Check and select the files you want to recover. You can type the file name in the search box or sort the deleted files by Name, Date Deleted, Item Type, etc. to help to locate the file faster.
Step 3: Right-click on the files.
